Primer charla / First speech

¡Saludos!

Disculpen la ausencia, es que no he dibujado mucho debido a que estoy un poco ocupado en algunas cositas. Estoy ocupando mis tardes yendo a inglés casi todos los días.
Estoy trabajando en un disfraz que voy a hacer para una convención el año que viene, pero quiero tener pronto el casco para poder llevarlo a una fiesta de disfraces en halloween. Es un trabajo minucioso pero no les voy a decir quién es, si termino el casco estos días subo fotos.

Sobre la semana pasada, yo y mis compañeros de CarqueJa Studios (grupo de amigos con quienes formamos un equipo de animadores) asistimos como invitados al festival de cortos del liceo Joaquín Suarez donde dimos una charla y muestra de nuestros cortometrajes, contando un poco nuestras experiencias e inicios. Nos mostramos libres y espontáneos, una charla de jóvenes para jóvenes, con risas y chistes para todos. Era una charla motivacional para que los alumnos del liceo conozcan las posibilidades de la animación en Uruguay.
Gracias a nuestra manager Yehimi, que nos consiguió la oportunidad de mostrarnos y difundir nuestros trabajos en un liceo, tuvimos esta experiencia de dar nuestra primera charla como grupo; y es algo que está bueno porque como animadores y directores en un futuro es probable que debamos dar varias charlas profesionalmente, y esta fue una oportunidad para experimentarlo libremente e ir conociendo estos aspectos.
Fue muy divertido e interesante, nos fue bien y todos estaban entusiasmados con nuestra presentación.

My apologies for being absent, I haven't been drawing very much because I'm a little busy doing some little things. I'm going to English clases to prepare the First certificate almost every afternoon.
I'm also working on a costume which I will be wearing in a comic convention next year, but I want to have at least the helmet so I can take it to a costume party in halloween. It's a very hard work making it but I'm not telling you who is the character, but if I finish it this weekend I will upload some photos for you.

About last week...
Me and my companions from CarqueJa Studios (a group of friends who work with me on my animation projects and short films) attended guests in a short film festival that taken place in the Joaquin Suarez high school in order to share our work and material of animation and to give a little speech about us and our projects. We didn't prepare an exactly speech, we decided to be espontaneous so we could feel free to transmit our thoughts and knowdlege, a speech for young people by young people, with jokes and laughters. It was a motivational speech to show the students the posibilities of animation in Uruguay.
Thanks to our manager Yehimi, who made possible to share and broadcast our works in a highschool, we had the oportunity of taking this experience of giving our first speech as a team; and is amazing because as animators and directors in a future we would probably have to give profesional speeches, and this was a chanse to do it freely and to start knowing some of those aspects.
It was very fun and intresting, we did it well and they were all enthusiastic about our broadcast.

Dibujando y pintando / drawing and painting

Estoy copado con lo de hacer estos dibujos, pintarlos y subirlos al blog, la tableta digital es muy buena.
Los otros días un profesor me tiró unos piques para dibujar con esta herramienta; me dijo que pusiera una hoja ensima asi simula un poco mejor lo que es dibujar en papel (aunque no es exactamente lo mismo, claro) y de paso proteger la tableta de los rayones.
¡Se los recomiendo!

I'm exited about doing these drawings, paint them and upload the images to the blog, the digital tablet is very nice.
The other day, an animation teacher gave me some tips to draw with this tool; he told me to put a simple paper over the digital tablet in order to make a better simulation (but not equal) of drawing with pen and paper, and to protect the tablet from scratches.
I recomend it to you!

Ausente / Absent

Esta semana no he publicado nada, y para ser sincero no he dibujado mucho.
Asi que para no dejarlos sin nada que ver hice un simple personaje.
La semana que viene yo y unos amigos con quienes formamos un equipo de productos animados, vamos a dar una pequeña charla y muestra de nuestros cortometrajes en un festival de cine que organiza un liceo, asi que tal vez esté un poco ausente.

Greetings I haven't upload anything this week, and to be honest I haven't been drawing very much. But I don't want to leave you with nothing to see here, so I decided to make some simple drawings to share with you.
Next week, me and a pair of friends (with whom I own an animation team) are going to give a little speech and share our two animated short films in a high school which is going to make a short film festival. That's why I'm a little absent these days.

Dibujar tus sentimientos / Draw your feelings

Dibujar es arte, y el arte es expresión. ¿Por qué dibujamos los humanos? Dibujamos principalmente para expresarnos mejor, liberarnos de lo que tenemos dentro y sacárnoslo de encima. Generalmente si estamos enojados o alegres lo demostramos con actitudes. Pero hay cosas que sentimos que no podemos expresarlas con palabras, pero si con dibujos o música.
Esos sentimientos a veces son grandes fuentes de inspiración que se convierten en momentos ideales para dibujar.
Estos dibujos los hice estando nervioso después de tomar mucho café.

Drawing is art, and art is a way to express our feelings. Why do we humans draw? I think we mainly draw to express our emotions and feelings which are inside us.
In general, if we are angry of happy we show a diferent actitude, but there are feelings that can't be shown with actitudes, but with drawings.
Feelings are sometimes big sources of inspiration, and of course, special times for drawing.
Here I made some drawings after being stressed and nervous because of too much coffee.



Y estos los hice después tratando de crear personajes del mismo universo. Pero no son lo mismo; el tipo de linea y la expresión, no es tan exagerado.

I made these others in a diferent moment trying to create characters in te same universe. But they are not the same; the expresion, the lines, is not so exagerated.


Ahora vayan y prueben dibujar cuando sientan emociones fuertes, a veces salen cosas interesantes.

Magic the Gathering

Uno de mis entretenimientos ademas del rol es jugar con mis amigos a las cartas Magic The Gathering. Hace un tiempo me dieron ganas de caricaturizar un par de cartas.
Tal vez están tiernos de más, pero me gusta como quedó.

I told you that yesterday we played rol games, but we also played a very known card game called Magic The Gathering. Some time ago I made some cartoons of a pair of my Magic Cards.
Maybe they are to much cute for a Magic card game of magic, gravedays and war, but I love how they look, so I will share them with you.

Juegos de Rol / Rol Games

¡Saludos!
¿Alguna vez jugaron juegos de rol? Se los recomiendo, es divertido e interesante cuando te metés en un personaje y tenés que actuar como si fueses ese personaje.
Anoche jugamos juegos de rol, y tenía que elaborar un personaje con una historia y personalidad.
Ademas de llenar una ficha y escribir una historia decidí aprovechar para hacer un boceto de como me lo imaginaba, y de paso pintarlo y tenerlo para subir a mi blog.
Los dejo con el proceso de diseño.

PD: No tenía ganas de hacer las piernas.

Have you ever played rol games? It's a must! Is fun and intresting, specially when you get into the character and you act as if you where the character.
Last night, I played rol games with some friends and I had to elaborate a character with his description and story. So, I decided to try drawing and painting him, in order to upload it to my blog.

Hoy no dibujé en todo el día, pero si en la noche.
Empezé a dibujar croquis de escenografia y perspectiva tomando en cuenta algunos consejos que un amigo me habia dado.

Today I hadn't drawn anything during the day, but I have been drawing recently at night. I started drawing sketches of background stages and landscapes to practise something of perspective. I took some advices and tips from a friend.

Este blog es nuevo y hasta ahora solo me he presentado con palabras... que desubicado de mi parte, merecen también que les cuente como soy con dibujos:

Pero los dibujos no solo deberían contar sobre mi aspecto físico. Tal vez pueda contar un poco más de mi.

Bueno... Tampoco soy un hechicero de "Magic the Gathering", pero dibujarme con alguna indumentaria inusual a veces es divertido.
Los dejo por ahora con eso, tengo muchas cosas más para publicar más tarde.

This blog is new and I know that there is actually an introduction of myself, but I can't make a blog about drawings without sharing some toony drawings of myself. But the fact that they are drawings does't mean they will only tell you how I look like.

Ok, ok... I'm not ginger, but I though that it could be funny to know what I would look like if I were. Drawing me with fancy clothes is sometimes very fun.
